2021 National Conference – in person & online!

The 2021 IFA/AFG National Conference will be held both in person & online from 11 – 14 October.

The theme of the conference Your Forests, Our Future highlights that Australia’s forests are for the benefit of everyone. Forests deliver many social, cultural, financial and environmental benefits, but their continued ability to provide these benefits depends on effective management and conservation. Through improved collaboration, sharing information, knowledge and skills and with the innovative use of technology and engagement of communities, forest scientists, managers, owners and other stakeholders will be better equipped to manage all types of forests across all tenures, including urban and farm forests.

We are committed to providing an exceptional conference experience whether you are participating in person or online. While we still hope as many people as possible can join us in Launceston in person, the Conference Committee is delighted to be able to provide a participation option for those who are unable or unwilling to travel. Our hybrid Conference will allow both delegates and speakers to participate in person, as well as virtually through our interactive platform.

The hybrid model is an exciting opportunity, and one we are committed to ensure is delivered in a highly professional manner. All conference sessions will be recorded, which will allow both in person and virtual delegates access to over 55 hours of content at a time convenient to them.

Updated preliminary program – NOW AVAILABLE

The Institute of Foresters of Australia and Australian Forest Growers (IFA/AFG) is delighted to releasean updated preliminary program for the 2021 IFA/AFG National Conference. As part of the call for abstracts process which began in February, the IFA/AFG received over 130 abstracts and expressions of interest from field foresters, researchers, students, farmers, communication and technology experts. The calibre of abstracts was exceptional, which has translated into a high quality, exciting and stimulating conference program.
