Alongside Conference sessions and Field Trips sits an exciting Social Program, to extend networking and informal learning opportunities at the 2023 ANZIF event.

First Timers Meet n’ Greet

This invitation only event is designed to welcome those who have not attended a Forestry Australia or New Zealand Institute of Forestry conference before, and to introduce you to other first-time delegates.

Welcome Reception

Following Day One of the Conference, join us at the Welcome Reception for a casual evening to catch up with colleagues, both familiar and new, and kick off ANZIF 2023 in style! Casual dinner and some drinks provided.

Women in Forestry Breakfast

This event is open to all delegates attending the conference. The Women in Forestry Breakfast will feature a panel of women speaking about their experiences working in the forestry sector, their thoughts on promoting diversity within the sector and a discussion on how to best facilitate women having a rewarding forestry career. Panellists to be advised shortly.

Future Foresters Initiative Networking Function

Date: Monday 16 October
Time: 6.15pm to 7.30pm
Location: Horizons Deck
Cost: Included in full and student registrations.

A great opportunity to expand networks and meet peers from Australia and New Zealand. The purpose of the Future Foresters Initiative (FFI) is to provide support to students and early career professionals from scientific forestry or related fields – through training, networking, mentoring and other social and professional development activities. Previous FFI engagements have established productive connections and exchanges. Invitations for this event are open to conference delegates aged 35 years and under.

Conference Dinner

Date: Tuesday 17 October
Time: 7.00pm to 10.30pm (coaches will depart Twin Towns at 6.30pm)
Location: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Cost: Included in full and student registrations. Additional tickets $125 pp (inclusive of GST).

Join us for the Conference Dinner. A casual evening to network with colleagues, both new and familiar – set amongst the iconic Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary bushland and rainforest. An opportunity to reflect on the happenings and learnings of the three days of Conference sessions, prior to the Field Trips the following day.
